Dubia Roaches

There are many ways people keep dubia roaches. This is how we do it!

Dubia can't climb smooth surfaces, so we use large plastic totes. 40 or 60 gallon totes work well. We cut a section out of the lid and glue on screen, to help with airflow and not build up condensation inside.

We use cardboard egg crate, stacked vertically for them to live in. We pack them fairly tight, as they're more comfortable with minimum visibility. Make sure it's cardboard without any dye.

For feed, we offer organic fresh fruit, veggies, and salad every second or third day. Make sure the portions are such that they finish it off fully within two days, mold is unhealthy for them. The fresh fruit doubles as a water source.

For protein we use 18% protein rabbit pellets.

We keep our colonies warm. Around 85F on the cool side, 90F on the warmer end.
